Community Resource Center

 
Out of this question came our next project. Building a resource center that is centrally located in the City of Mzimba, for all schools, churches and people to utilize. There is not a public library in this area.  There are a handful of African Library organizations that exist, but we wanted to specifically hand pick our resources, and send Christian materials as well.  
 
Over 5 different Indiana schools donated resources and text books, and furniture.

The building will house a conference room, student library, a preschool library, a music room and a preschool space. Outside we will have a basketball court and play ground. It is located just off the main route in the center of Mzimba. 

It is an honor to connect people in America with real needs in Malawi.

Container Costs: $14,000

Mzimba Shine Bright Resource Center

 
The Shine Bright Resource Center we hope will be an answer to the question of how to help our students and the students in this central region of Malawi will be able to succeed in school.  It will be a bright shining source of hope, real help, information, and fun.  The Shine Bright Resource Center is in the middle of town with multiple secondary schools, primary schools, churches and people surrounding it.  Giving Basics is teaming up with Shine Malwai on this project that we hope will bring lasting impact in this region.  It will host a pre-school, tutoring center, library and computer lab, music room, play ground, basketball court, and a soccer area.  
 
Construction of the Resource center started in December of 2025!
 

We have $76,000 raised!

Our Focus

All these endeavors are undergirded in prayer, boldly speaking the gospel, and waiting on the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct us.  The point of Giving Basics is to help people with basic needs in order to show the love of Christ and be able to invite them to know Him more deeply, by way of speaking plainly to them about the gospel.
